Lives are so much richer and varied than we could have ever imagined as 17 and 18 year olds. Harold David Alldis (d. October 19, 1995)

"Bugsy" thinks he’ll be a car salesman or policeman 10 years from now—favorite saying is "Oh yeah"—likes orange juice, reading and to hang out at Mike’s house—would like to travel and feels his honesty makes him unique—spends his spare time with "girls" and art work in his father’s litho shop.

Michael Ashworth (d. July 16, 2011. Palo Alto, CA)

"C-D Basketball 1, 2, 3; Wrestling 2, 3; Track 3; Block C 3. When Mike isn't working at his job in a grocery store, he can usually be found sailing--says "Sea Wolf" is his favorite book, chicken his favorite food, and "You gooFed" his favorite saying--immediate ambition is to go to college."

John Anderson (d. April 13, 2006)

John has attended school in Mexico--favors Mexican food--brother is his hero--wants to go to S.F. State--spends his spare moments relaxing with his favorite book, Andersonville.

Carroll Beilke Ready (d. March 27, 1997)

Carroll, or "Buzzard," spends most of her spare time reading novels—favorite is "Hawaii"—and listening to popular music—among her secret desires is a trip to Hawaii in a helicopter—headed for college after graduation—envisions herself married to a millionaire in 10 years.

Jerry Callander (d.in 1960s)

Party loving Jerry likes nothing better than having a wild good time—when he isn’t hunting or fishing he’s working on his car—works at Hewlett-Packard—hopes to someday have his own business—Foothill College is included in his plans for the coming fall.

Frank Cannon

"Twisting" with Chubby Checker is Frank’s secret desire—records and dancing are his favorite pastimes—likes french fries and doing the splits—can be heard saying "It’s not a big thing!"—plans to work in a post office after graduation.

Wilbert Cubit (d. some time between late 2002 and 2006) Posted 5/13 07.

"Wimpy," as he is known by his friends, likes reading, listening to records, and cars--has worked in a car upholstering establishment--favorite saying is "Cuban Kid"--hopes to go on to college.

 

Tom Dean (12/28/07)

Car Club 1, 2, 3. Deano’s favorite pastimes are eating, sleeping, working on cars, and making moneyhopes to be rich somedaybest known for his carplans college.

Joseph DeVore (d. 11/02/06)

Jpe died on his tenth wedding anniversary. (He never did receive the liver transplant he was waiting for before our 2002 reunion.)

"Big Joe's favorite pastime is playing the trumpet--loves to say, "Chevs don't go" and loves to eat roast beef--plans to go into the Air Force after graduation--wants to take a trip around the world--known for his eyes, sense of humor, and "crazy" trumpet."

Scott Douglass (d. in 1960’s)

Scott’s favorite pastime is sleeping—worked at Lockheed last summer—likes licorice ice cream and The Caine Mutiny—hopes to tour the U.S. on a motor scooter.

"We lost Scott in the 60’s. He was doing one of his favorite things—swimming underwater laps after hours in the in the Greenmeadow community pool." --Dallas (Willoughby) Porter-Stowe.

At this time we don’t have information on Scotty. Sure hope someone can help us out.

Lee Gualtieri (d. Nov 1997)

"Dead-eye" is an avid outdoorsman—particularly enjoys hunting and fishing—can be found at the Pintail Duck Club—wants to live a "life of leisure"—has packed in the Sierras to hunt deer.

Sue Hildebrand McPherson (d. Mar 7, 2002)

"Frizzly Magoo always gets grit in her eye"—has been a Candy Striper at Stanford—divides her time between the phone and the piano—likes roast beef—hopes to be married after two years at Foothill.

Marvin "Bucky" Hirabayashi (d. April 17, 2009. Palo Alto, CA.)

Bucky didn't make the annual in '62, but here is info from his obituary. . . "He was born in Japan and raised in Silicon Valley, graduating from Cubberley High School in Palo Alto. He was an early pioneer in the printed circuit board industry in Santa Clara County, founding Martex Circuits in Mountain View in 1979. He enjoyed camping, gardening, and fishing wth family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife Merlie, his mother Heiko, and his brother Masataka. He was blessed with three children: Timothy, Ticia, and Kelly and six grandchildren. "

Tana (Hopkin) Dow

Tana is known as a nonconformist and has pathetic brown eyes—houses a foreign exchange student (Nevra Sirvan)—hero is Troy Donahue—wants to travel to unknown parts with her dog after Brigham Young University.

Eric Kampe

Eric enjoys flying and hunting—loves to eat bacon and hangs out at the airport—rates science fiction high on his list—wants to own a ranch away from everything—plans to become an engineer in electronics.

Nat King

Nat has played in a rock and roll band—likes to play guitar—secretly wants to be a psychologist—wants to go to Foothill or Arizona State after graduation.

"I remember Nat very well from elementary school (Mayfield). I also remember when the teacher discovered how well he could sing and steered him toward voice lessons."—Dallas Willoughby Porter-Stowe

Allan London (d. April 24, 2011. San Rafael, CA.)

"Explorer Scouts 1, 2, 3; Orchestra 1; Cycling Club 1, Legislature 3. Allan likes to camp as well as spaghetti and Corvettes--willing to try anything that's different--Reserved, but with easy laughter--hopes to major in engineering in college."

John Martinez, Jr. (d. Jan 2, 1998)

John was not pictured in the ’62 yearbook so there was no blurb available. Sure hope someone can help us out here with remembrances.

Tom Merriam (d. August 2000)

Tom can usually be found in downtown Alviso—wants to secretly smack Tom Hodge in the eye and plans to see the world after graduation—(he broke his neck after falling off the front porch). Note from Editor: The reference to falling off the porch is from the '62 annual.

Wayne Miller

"Hap" likes noodles, Audrey Meadows, and the Odious Ones—plans to attend college and the will pitch for the Pirates—"enjoys playing baseball."

Gary Pierson (d. 2004)

"Gary is quite a guy--likes cars and dolls--lives to be loved--devours Hot Rod magazines, but really prefers steak--ambition is to go to college where he hopes to pick up a few more techniques--favorite saying: "Holy smokes, Boy!"

Kenneth P:owell (d. March 2, 2012. Scottsdale, AZ)

Kenny's ex-wife (Joanne Powell) shares: ". . .I know his high school and grade school years were his happiest times and he always spoke fondly of being a Cubberley Cougar. Please pass this information along to other classmates and ask them to remember Kenny fondly and keep him in their thoughts and prayers."

"Golf 1, 2, 3; Legislature 2; Block C 1, 2, 3; Class Council 2. "K" enjoys doodling, spending spare moments at home, and golf--secretly wants to be a professional golfer--has even made a 260 year hole in one--rates Sue Nelson and pizza--talented on the guitar and in golf."

Pam Rawlins Courtial (d. September 19, 2009. Corona Del Mar, CA)

"Glee Club 1, 2.3; Totem 1, 2; Pep Club 1, 2; Church Group 1, 2, 3; Coed Capers 3. Pam's source of money has been baby sitting--likes to spend time talking with friends, ice skating, and eating--loves lemonade bars--favorite book is "Ugly American"--has toured Europe."

Darlene Reyes Allen (d. 3/1/2006) Posted 3/19/06

"D" passes her time speaking French and hides out in the sewing room--potatoes are her favorite food and Exodus her favorite book-- wants to go to college, become an airline hostess, and then travel to France.

Raymond Roman

Raymond didn’t make the yearbook so we don’t have a blurb for him. Hope someone can help us out. (Photo is from '57 Wilbur Jr. High annual. Eagle-eye Nakamoto found him.)

James Silver

Jim is perhaps best known for his camera which goes where he goes—wishes he could be home on time for once—likes to eat anything exotic—future plans include college and work.

Mary Sullivan

Here’s an entry from Sharis Woodard: “I last saw Mary Sullivan in Macy's or the Emporium where she was a salesperson. I don't remember what year it was, but it was probably in the 70's. She was her usual perky self when I saw her."

Mary "Emmy" Sutherland Hopson (d. December 3, 2010. Los Alamos, NM.)

Pep Club 1, 2, 3; Modeling Club 1, 3; Int. Club 3; Rainbow 1, 2, 3; Candy Striper 3; Baldonnais 2, 3; Young Life 3; Soc. Comm. 3. "Emmy" likes to smile and idolizes Charlie Brown--"Good grief!"--craves pizza--hangs out at the Stanford View--known for her height--plans to attend Cal at Berkley.

Allan Michael Traugott (d. October 30, 2004)

Mike has an affinity for good apple pie, listening to records, likes "Never Plead Guilty, and Harpo Marx. Intends to become and interior decorator with a penthouse in Honolulu. "School is out!" is his battle cry.

Ann Weidenheimer (d. October 2004)

Joan Willis Garsha (d. April 30, 1993)

Joan loves to listen to records, boat, golf, and go to parties—idolizes Liz Taylor and Connie Stevens—devours steak and french fries—wants to become a great artist and live in Hawaii—plans to travel to Hawaii during summer.

Mike is a whiz in mathfavorite pastime is eatingchemistry and physics rate with himacknowledged for his work with Philco’s programming computers"Support that."plans to continue his math career and discover something worthwhile.

Robert Wooding

Rob rates playing the guitar and sports—likes to be anyplace away from home—likes Dr. tom Dooley and scrambled eggs—secretly wants to ski for the rest of his life—future plans include college and work.

Stephanie Zoske (d. mid-late 1970’s)

Steph loves to watch television—hangs out at Lenny’s house—devours pizza and likes to read Madamoiselle Magazine—plans to attend the U. of New Mexico after graduation.
